Entry Placement Test

  • Entry placement test are used for placement at all Florida community colleges for most degree programs.
  • Students must have an active application on file, and must provide a government-issued photo ID in order to test. Admissions application must be completed 5 business days prior to testing.
  • Tests are administered on a walk-in basis at Assessment Center locations.
  • There is a $10 retake fee per subtest of the CPT.
  • Students may be exempt from placement testing if they:
    • have college-level coursework in English or mathematics with a "C" or better from a regionally accredited institution.
    • have valid ACT/CPT/PERT/SAT scores that places him/her in college level courses.

FAQs

  • What should I bring on test day? You must bring a valid goverment-issued photo ID, such as a driver's license and your Valencia ID number.
  • Are any testing aids allowed? Textbooks, notebooks, dictionaries, calculators, or other testing aids of any kind (except scratch paper provided by the Test Administrator ) are not allowed.
  • Is guessing allowed? You must answer every question before moving onto the next question. You cannot omit any questions or come back later to change an answer. This is why we strongly encourage you to study!
  • What if I need special accommodations? If you have a disability or disabling condition that will prevent you from taking the test under standard conditions, inform the Test Administrator before taking the test. These requests should be made directly to the Test Administrator at your college.
