Career Pathways

About Us

Skills Training

It's not enough to know "about" something, you must also know how to "do" something. Many high-wage jobs today require technical skills. Job statistics indicate that only 4% of new jobs can be filled by people with the lowest skill levels.

Academic Preparation

Students may begin focusing on higher academics and technical skills through Career Pathways while in middle school or high school. Career Pathways programs can link high school studies with at least two years at Orange Technical College, the Technical Education Center Osceola or Valencia College. Credits earned through Career Pathways can lead to a two-year certificate, an associate's degree, or a bachelor's degree.

Earn College or Technical Credits While in High School

Career Pathways enables students to take Career and Technical Education courses while in middle or high school, successfully pass the assessments, and become eligible to receive college credit when they enroll at Valencia College, Orange Technical College or the Technical Education Center Osceola.

Save Time and Money

By earning college credit while in high school, students make a smooth transition between high school and college by not duplicating coursework--saving time and tuition/book money.
