Chauncey Fagler
Executive Director, Florida College System Risk Management Consortium

Chauncey Fagler was named the Executive Director of the Florida College System Risk Management Consortium in 2007. The consortium manages the cooperative insurance program for the state’s 27 public (community) colleges under one statewide plan inclusive of property, workers’ compensation, liability, health, life and other programs. Fagler joined the consortium in 2002 and was its Associate Director previously.

Prior to joining FCSRMC, Fagler spent two years with Edward Jones as a financial advisor. From 1984 through 2001, Fagler had a long career in specialty retail management overseeing purchasing, administrative services and store planning for the brand division Structure of The Limited Inc., Ann Taylor, Lord & Taylor, and K-mart. At Structure, Fagler was Regional Manager of the Southeast US and Director of Administrative Services in the Corporate Offices.

Fagler currently is the President of the Florida Education Risk Management Association (FERMA), a member of the University Risk Management and Insurance Association (URMIA), and the Risk Insurance Management Society (RIMS). This year, Fagler was a Study Team member on a national white paper for college and university risk managers entitled Natural Catastrophes hosted by AJ Gallagher & Company. He is also a Past-President and current Board member of the University of Florida’s F Club, an extension of Gator Boosters, which oversees the induction of athletes into its Hall of Fame. He also served as a Board member of the UF Swimming & Diving Splash Club, and was elected to the School Board of Southwest Licking County (Ohio). A four-year letter winner and All American swimmer for UF, Fagler earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Advertising. He has earned a national designation as Associates in Risk Management (ARM-P), and licenses from the Florida Department of Insurance in Life, Health and Variable Annuity. Fagler is also a licensed securities broker.

Personally, Fagler is the Missions Team leader at the Family Church in Gainesville, where he resides with his wife of 26 years, Rose. They have two older daughters; Lauren (23) and Sarah (21).
