Dual Enrollment (DE)

Dual Enrollment Ambassadors

Dual Enrollment Ambassadors are students who are dedicated to serving and representing the Dual Enrollment department at various on campus events.

West Campus

Name: Gracia Jeanty

Gracia is a senior at Edgewater High School, part of the graduating class of 2019. She has been participating in Dual Enrollment since the fall of her junior year of high school and is planning to graduate from high school with her Associate of Arts in General Studies. After high school, Gracia is planning to pursue a degree in engineering at a four year university. She enjoys various activities outside of her academics such as: volleyball, being an active member in her church community, being a Science Olympiad, reading, cooking and traveling to new places. She chose to participate in Dual Enrollment because it allows her to pursue the activities she enjoys by freeing up her schedule. She enjoys the Dual Enrollment program because she dislikes the process and type of testing that comes along with Advanced Placement (AP) courses.

A tip for DE students: Know how you learn best so you can succeed, because learning is personal.

Name: Willow Candelora

Willow is a junior at Cornerstone Charter Academy where she is involved with the Project Lead the Way (PLTW) program, National Honor Society (NHS) and Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA). Willow is also an athlete; she is captain of the swim team and part of the flag football team. In her free time, she enjoys volunteering at the Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando, reading, hanging out with her pets and participating in Valencia courses. Willow plans to graduate with her Associate of Arts in General Students in spring of 2020.

A tip for DE students: Enjoy everything Valencia has to offer, along with getting ahead in your career!

She enjoys going to the gym and taking long walks on the beach. As a Dual Enrollment Ambassador, she aspires to help Dual Enrollment students feel comfortable and confident in taking college courses. Hannah is ready to answer any questions and share her experience about an amazing program that has helped her academic career.

A tip for DE students: It is important to stay focused, try your hardest, and have a good relationship with your professors.

Name: Nicole Rivera

Nicole is a senior at Colonial High School. She has been participating in Dual Enrollment for a year. As a Dual Enrollment Ambassador, she hopes to ease the transition into the program for her peers. Additionally, she is the president of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Club. In her free time, she enjoys painting and running her art shop.
