Direct Connect FAQ

There is a place on Valencia’s admissions application to indicate your desire to Direct Connect to UCF. You can also join at any time during your college career by contacting either a Valencia advisor or the UCF advisor on Osceola or West campus.

 
  • Guaranteed entry to UCF
    Students graduating with A.A. or select A.S. degrees are guaranteed admission to UCF. (Limited access and restricted access programs may require an additional admissions process.)
  • Accelerated admissions to UCF
    Provides smooth transition through the UCF admissions process including orientation, transcripts, advising and financial aid.
  • Convenient classroom locations
    You can take your UCF courses at the main campus or at one of their regional campuses throughout Central Florida, including Valencia’s Osceola and West campuses.
  • Enhanced academic advising
    You’ll receive comprehensive on-site advising from both Valencia and UCF advisors.
 

The 2+2 guarantees A.A. graduates admission to one of the 11 state universities and not necessarily to one of your choice. Once you have indicated your participation in Direct Connect, Valencia and UCF work together to prepare you for completion of your bachelor’s degree.

 
  1. Submit an admissions application to Valencia College and indicate your desire to participate in Direct Connect to UCF.
  2. During the term that you will complete 45 credit hours at Valencia, submit an electronic application to UCF.
  3. Provide official transcripts from any other schools you have attended to Valencia and UCF as well as any other required documents.
  4. Meet with an advisor before initial registration and at regular intervals to maintain an appropriate academic plan.
    • At 15 hours, meet with a Valencia advisor.
    • At 30 hours, meet with Valencia and UCF advisors.
    • At 45 hours, meet with Valencia and UCF advisors to confirm status with UCF.

  5. Apply for graduation from Valencia by the published deadline in the term you will complete your requirements. Verify your acceptance to UCF.
 

No. You cannot transfer with an A.A.S. degree or a certificate. To transfer to UCF, you must receive either an A.A. or A.S. degree. With Valencia's A.A. degree, you can transfer into a variety of Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) or Bachelor of Science (B.S.) programs at UCF. With Valencia’s A.S. degree, you can transfer into the Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.S.) program at UCF with a specialization in one of six areas.
