PROGRAM OVERVIEW :

If you want to see the best of three exciting cities where you will find endless entertainment, restaurants, markets, monuments and culture, please join us for the Barcelona, Valencia and Madrid experience in Spain. Relive medieval times, compare beaches, dazzling light and water shows of the Magic Fountain in Barcelona and more!

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

Students enrolled in this course will earn credit for participation in approved study abroad programs in the Valencia Honors Program. Course content will vary each year, but will involve activities that satisfy at least one of the following program outcomes: (1) Recognize and weigh different perspectives in primary and secondary sources; (2) Produce original work and scholarly research; (3) Connect learning across academic disciplines; 4) Five hours of service learning in Madrid’s Refugee Center.

THINGS TO CONSIDER BEFORE YOU APPLY:

This trip involves extensive walking, flying and train travel across the Atlantic Ocean as well as three countries. Accommodations require doubling up and sharing a bathroom with modern facilities and 3 to 4 star hotels comparable to our 5 star hotels in US)

FUNDING INFORMATION:

  1. The program will receive funding by the Honors Office.
  2. Eligible students can use their financial aid to cover the additional program costs (airfare, accommodations, meals, etc.) as long as the course satisfies your degree requirements. Complete a MY EDUCATION PLAN or meet with an Academic Advisor for details. It is important that this course count towards your degree or certificate program; otherwise your financial aid payment may be reduced.

SCHOLARSHIP ELIGIBILITY:

  • Apply by the application deadline
  • Be a degree-seeking student with Valencia College
  • Completed one semester within last year
  • Completed 12 college-level credits
  • Be at least 18 years’ old on day of departure
  • Maintain a minimum GPA of 3.25 at application deadline
