Boolean searching is the means of organizing keywords into concept sets. Electronic resources are constructed to allow the use of Boolean operators to retrieve information. This includes Google, library book catalogs, and electronic databases. The images below illustrate how Boolean operators relate. For most research assignments at Valencia College, the AND operator is usually sufficient to find relevant articles in a database.
