Testing for Valencia Online Students

Online Courses

Regularly scheduled testing is held at the location noted in your course outline or may be offered online.  Your faculty member will communicate testing requirements as part of the Course Orientation and Syllabus materials.

Remote Online Course students will need to provide their faculty member the information for the Remote Test Site/Proctor Location well in advance of testing dates in order to have their exams sent to their test proctor.

It is strongly recommended that students communicate with their faculty member/instructor at least three weeks in advance of your desired test date. This will insure that you can meet instructor and course deadlines.

Respondus LockDown Browser for Students

Respondus LockDown Browser Software This application is a custom browser that locks down the testing environment within Canvas and WebCT. When students use Respondus LockDown Browser they are unable to print, copy, go to another URL, or access other applications. When an assessment is started, students are locked into it until they submit it for grading.

Supports Windows and Mac

Alternate Site Testing

Please check your instructor's syllabus, course outline or contact your instructor for more information.

Faculty who require proctoring will schedule tests/exams to be taken at Valencia College campuses, on designated days and times.  Your instructor will let you know if he or she is providing the option to use an alternate site. If you choose an alternate site, it is recommended that you designate your site for the entire term. Please note that you will be required to show proper identification at the test site. In addition, please note that the rooms of the alternate test sites may change each semester.
Alternate site testing is to be coordinated by students who require the use of this service and are unable to make it to Valencia to take a proctored test or exam.   Students are expected to pay any fees or costs required at the test proctor location and this is not the responsibility of Valencia College.

To find alternative sites, students may wish to consider the following resource:

Testing Fees

Any testing fees charged by non-Valencia Community College testing centers are the responsibility of the student.
