Welcome Our New Provost
Yolanda Brown, JD
We are pleased to announce that, after a successful search that began in July 2023, Yolanda Brown J.D. has accepted the position of provost, workforce education. She will join us on Tuesday, January 16 to manage the College’s comprehensive portfolio of workforce education offerings.
Yolanda will join us from Broward College in Fort Lauderdale, where she served as associate vice president of adult and community education. In this role, she pioneered the development of a new division within the adult education department, employing data-driven analysis to optimize program offerings. Her leadership has resulted in the successful management of 13 grants totaling nearly $20 million, furthering the college's commitment to innovative community engagement and workforce education.
Prior to her associate vice president position, Yolanda held several other key positions within Broward College, including associate dean of innovative workforce curriculum and programming; associate dean of math online; dean of partnership centers and articulation and transfer services; and associate dean of academic and student affairs.
Before her tenure at Broward College, Yolanda served as dean of academic affairs at Keiser University in Fort Lauderdale, where she led initiatives to recruit and retain high-quality talent.
Yolanda earned a Juris Doctor from the University of Miami School of Law and holds a Bachelor of Arts in English with a minor in education from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University.
In addition to her professional achievements, Yolanda is an active member of her community. She serves as the board president for the City of Hallandale Beach and sponsors the Veterans Alliance at Broward College. Yolanda is also a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta sorority and is a disabled veteran of the United States Navy.
