Federal Government Shutdown Update:
The link below is being published in an effort to keep our VA Student population abreast of the current Government Shutdown information regarding several types of Veterans Affairs Services. Please note some services have been shutdown due to their non-essential nature. Your VA educational benefits are considered essential so they will continue to be processed at this point. If the shutdown lasts for a prolonged time period they too will be suspended according to the Department of Veterans Affairs due to their funding being exhausted. We will do our best to send you more information about this situation as it becomes available.
For more information please view the Veterans Field Guide to Government Shutdown.
Welcome to the Office of Veteran Affairs
We are located at all four main campuses to help make using your benefits as easy as possible. Our goal is to make the process a "one stop" experience. In order to do this please read the material associated with the benefit you are trying to use so that when you come to our office in person you have all the material needed to use your benefits and don't have to make several trips. The laws dealing with the different veteran benefit programs are complex and change quite often. We hope you will seek our advice and assistance when applying for your benefits. Coordination with the Office of Veteran Affairs can reduce the chance of financial hardship brought about by misunderstandings with the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Beginning with the 2011 summer term, Veteran's Affairs will no longer pay for remedial or preparatory courses that are offered online or in a hybrid format (partially online). These courses can no longer be included in your certified hours. Please make any necessary adjustments to your schedule if need be prior to submission of your VA certification request.
