Beverly Bond, M.Ed, RT(R)

Program Chair , Radiography

I have been working at Valencia since 2001. Prior to Valencia I taught at UCF for eight years in the radiography program.  I have been in the radiography field since 1992 and am currently still a pool employee of St. Cloud Regional Hospital.

I live in St. Cloud and enjoy country living with my husband and two daughters.  We have two cats, one dog, a hamster and many fish.  I enjoy reading, spending time out doors and especially enjoy going to the beach.

I have been working in the medical field since the late-80s, and in various radiography roles including Radiographer, Staff Technologist, Special Procedures Technologist, Office Manager, and Clinical Instructor since 1994.

I graduated from Polk State College (formerly Polk Community College) with an Associate of Science in Radiologic Science, and became certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, in 1994. Adjunct Clinical Professor

I came to the USA from Jamaica in 1964 at age 16. I graduated from Hartford Hospital School of Radiologic Technology in 1968. In 2000, I graduated from Daytona Beach Community College with an AA degree. In 2010 I graduated with a B.Sc. in Health Care Administration from St. Leo University.

Valencia College keeps me very busy and I enjoy the work I do as a Clinical Instructor.

I have three wonderful sons; all college graduates, three beautiful daughters-in-law, and three blessed very cute granddaughters.

I love gardening and working in the yard. This for me is relaxation. I am most happy when I am able to give away and share fruits and veggies with family friends and neighbors.

It goes without saying that I love to cook.

Adjunct Didactic and Clinical Professor

A.S. degree, Radiography, A.R.R.T Certified RT (R). Currently seeking certification in Magnetic Resonance Imaging.

I am a graduate from Valencia College in 1996. I am currently working on completing certificate program in Magnetic Resonance Imaging.

I joined Valencia as an adjunct faculty member in August, 1999.  Prior to Valencia, I worked for one year at a Level One trauma center and I am currently employed on a per diem basis at Jewett Orthopedic Clinic as a staff technologist.

On a personal note, I was born and raised in Orlando and I have a beautiful daughter and wonderfully supportive husband. We have a very active Jack Russell Terrier named “Laela” who loves to be outside with us.  I began teaching in Environmental Science and Biology many years ago and Radiography seemed a natural progression. Radiography is a dynamic field and you must be willing to learn and grow as the technology changes.  I truly enjoy being part of the process that helps students obtain their goals as they become life-long learners, seeking to become excellent Radiologic Technologists and beyond.

Adjunct Didactic Clinical Professor

I received an A. S. Degree in Radiography from Valencia College.  Since 2007, I have been an Adjunct Professor, at my alma mater, teaching positioning lab to the junior students and clinical site instruction for both junior and senior students since 2007.  My professional experience, prior to Valencia and currently, includes positions as a per-diem staff technologist at a Level One trauma center and a per-diem staff technologist at Kissimmee Outpatient Center.

On a personal note, I am blessed to be with my wife, Joanna, who has helped me to grow spiritually and emotionally.  Giuliana, Giulian, and Giovanna are our three blessings, who have made our lives very interesting.  We are thankful for my mother-in-law for her enduring support and strength in helping us and allowing us to make a difference in others.

Mauzy_radiographyJames Mauzy, BS RT(R)

Radiography Adjunct Professor

I began an educational career after college graduation by accepting a high school teaching position in the field of English and science. During those years I served as the English Department Chairman, Science Advisor and Drama Director. I eventually completed the coursework to become a Certified Guidance Counselor and served in that position for several years. The years after were mostly in positions dealing with electronics design, installation and repair.

In the late 90’s I decided to enter the health field and enrolled in the Radiography program at Valencia and graduated from the program in 2000.

I worked at Orlando Regional Lucerne for two years as a technologist and had the opportunity to return to education once again with a didactic and clinical position in the Valencia radiography program in 2002. The 5 years working in the program at Valencia were a great experience as once again I was in the health field and in education. I formally retired in 2007 but returned part time on 2009.

I live with my wife in east Orlando in a home ruled by two cats. Our daughter and granddaughter live nearby.
