Frequently Asked Questions

What is Entertainment Design and Technology?

Entertainment Design and Technology is Technical support for live entertainment shows.  If there is a performer and an audience, then someone has to light it, provide audio and scenic support.  Entertainment technicians do this work.  They hang and program lights, build and install scenery as well as install and operate audio systems.

Which specialization is best for me?

If you like planning and want to see your scenery and lighting designs come to life, then you should probably choose Production Design as your specialization.  If, on the other hand, you like to be in the middle of the action at a performance, then Live Show Production is for you.

What kind of places will I work?

Theaters, concerts, theme parks, circuses, cruise ships, convention centers, arenas – anywhere that audience and performer come together, there is an opportunity for entertainment designers and technicians.
