Each year, the Valencia Honors Program offers a one-credit study abroad class, IDH2955 - "Honors Study Abroad." Honors faculty lead an intense international experience to a different country.
In March 2019, Professors Val Woldman and Jamie Prusak will lead a trip to the Netherlands. The trip will include a service learning component and hours earned will count toward a service learning distinction at graduation. For more information visit Valencia Study Abroad.
The benefits of honors vary from individual to individual. First, honors classes are smaller and lead to greater interaction between faculty and students and greater exploration of the subject area. In addition, honors students get priority registration. Also, there are several honors-specific scholarships. And, if you complete the program, there are transfer scholarships for which you will be eligible. Honors graduates wear an honors stole at graduation and have a special notation by their name in the commencement bulletin. Finally, there are additional, intangible benefits as well - such as the knowledge that you have achieved something you set out to achieve.
The Leadership Track is designed to create citizen scholars
