Honor America’s 250th Birthday Puma-Style
Valencia College is proud to participate in America250FL, joining communities across Florida in commemorating the 250th (semiquincentennial) anniversary of our nation’s founding. As we look ahead to July 4, 2026, we invite our community to reflect on the enduring principles set forth in the Declaration of Independence and Florida’s unique role in our nation’s history. Through educational programs, community events, and civic engagement, Valencia seeks to strengthen appreciation for our constitutional republic, honor the sacrifices of those who have served our country, and encourage thoughtful participation in civic life. America’s semiquincentennial is a unique moment to celebrate our nation's history and look ahead to the future.
Florida College System Sunshine State Debate
Valencia College students will participate in the Florida College System's inaugural Sunshine State Debate. The debate will celebrate the Semiquincentennial of the United States and include students from Florida's 28 state colleges. Preliminary rounds will be held at Tallahassee State College, while the quarterfinal, semifinal and final rounds will be hosted in Florida's Historic Capitol.

Join us for food, music and fun. Our celebration includes interactive activities and engaging conversations highlighting the values of freedom, democracy, and civic engagement. Take part in this once-in-a-generation moment of commemoration while considering what the next 250 years might hold.
