Centers for Accelerated Training
The Centers for Accelerated Training at Valencia College is an initiative developed to provide short-term training for in-demand jobs. This initiative is carried out at five Centers for Accelerated Training and various other locations in the community.
The term “Centers for Accelerated Training” is the overall initiative.
An example of correct usage: The Centers for Accelerated Training has announced a new location on the Poinciana
campus of Valencia College.
The term “Center for Accelerated Training” is used to refer to any of the individual locations.
An example of correct usage: The Center for Accelerated Training on the Osceola campus of Valencia College will
offer five new programs this term.
The term “Centers for Accelerated Training” refers to multiple locations.
An example of correct usage: New programs offered at Valencia College Centers for Accelerated Training are accepting
new students.
Accelerated Skills Training
The term “Accelerated Skills Training” is the title of the product line of programs
offered at the five Centers for Accelerated Training, which includes the Advanced Manufacturing Training Center and other campus locations such as the School
of Public Safety.
“Accelerated Skills Training” is the name we use to promote the product to an external audience.
An example of correct usage: Accelerated Skills Training programs will be offered at all of our Valencia College
Centers for Accelerated Training this fall.
Locations
NEVER directly attach a qualifying location to a center’s name. Instead, refer to the individual
locations as follows:
- Center for Accelerated Training at Valencia College Downtown Orlando
- Center for Accelerated Training on Valencia College Poinciana Campus
- Center for Accelerated Training on Valencia College Osceola Campus
- Center for Accelerated Training in Northwest Orlando
