Dr. Shara Lee
Director of Engaged Learning
Dr. Shara Lee has been involved with experiential education for over 20 years and faculty development for over 10 years. She joined Valencia in 2013 after five years with the University of Central Florida as a faculty member with the Office of Experiential Learning and 10 years in various positions with Walt Disney Parks & Resorts including as a facilitator for the experiential education Youth Education Series programs. Dr. Lee holds a bachelor’s degree in interpersonal and organizational communications from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, an MBA from Stetson University, and a doctorate in educational leadership from the University of Central Florida and her doctoral work in experiential learning earned recognition as the Society for Experiential Education’s Outstanding Education Research Award in 2013.
Claudia Sardon
Administrative Assistant
Claudia Sardon joined Valencia College after working as a data analyst to improve machine learning across multiple platforms. She also worked as administrative assistant at the University of Central Florida College of Engineering & Computer Science and as an instructor of English as a second language at the Berlitz Language Center. Claudia holds a bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications from the University of Florida.
Nicolas Guerra
Staff Assistant
Nicolas Guerra is a former Valencia student that is now a part of the Engaged Learning team. Before coming to Valencia College, Nicolas worked as a paraprofessional at Carillon Elementary School where he tutored students in math and reading, taught a literary themed art class to K-2nd grade students and taught a ukulele class to 3rd-5th grade students. He soon developed a deep passion for teaching and education and is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Social Science Education at the University of Central Florida.
