About Us

Since 2013, Valencia College, in collaboration with other state colleges in the Central Florida region, has offered a range of learning experiences for students, faculty and staff to meet the goals of CFSA LSAMP:

  • To increase the successful transfer of historically underrepresented minority students into a science, technology, engineering or mathematics (STEM) baccalaureate majors
  • To enhance the STEM educational experiences of URM students pursuing STEM majors.

Though LSAMP does not support STEM majors in clinical or other health-career fields, you can review the complete list of NSF/LSAMP STEM Classification of Instructional Programs

CFSA at Hidden Figures

As the lead institution of the CFSA, Valencia College facilitates the work of the many alliance partners to achieve improved minority student retention, graduation and transfer in STEM. At the same time, the college implements its own activities as a partner college in CFSA. Both roles are accomplished through a core team of five Valencia College staff and, in collaboration, with a host of internal and external partners.
