Accelerated Skill Training

Valencia College has been selected as one of 15 colleges in the country to receive a $100,000 grant from the legendary heavy metal band Metallica’s All Within My Hands foundation through its “Metallica Scholars Initiative” workforce program.

Metallica Scholars Initiative students will be trained in welding, mechatronics or the operation of heavy construction equipment. Graduates of these programs earn starting wages that average $14 to $26 an hour in Central Florida.

Heavy Equipment Operator Program

10 WEEKS

Get hands-on training with a career that powers your passion.

Average entry-level salary range: $14 – $18 per hour

Welding 1 & 2 Programs

36 WEEKS

Brush up on metals and find a career made of steel.

Average entry-level salary range: $15 – $18 per hour

Mechatronics Program

18 WEEKS

Sharpen your skills to troubleshoot technology in a high-tech career.

Average entry-level salary range: $20 – $26 per hour
