Film Production Technology

Valencia's Film Production Technology program has been called "one of the best film schools in the country" by renowned director Steven Spielberg.

About the Film Program

Our Film Production Technology program at Valencia College offers an intensive curriculum of experiential learning that immerses students in the entire filmmaking process. We nurture passionate storytellers while training our students in the technical aspects of film production - from pre-production through post-production. Some of the major areas of study include: Cinematography, Grip & Lighting, Editing, Production Sound, Set Construction, Production Management & Set Protocol. Courses are hands-on and are taught by professional filmmakers. As the southeast region of the US continues to grow as a major film production center with two major production hubs - Universal Studios and Disney - located right here in Orlando, there is a corresponding need for trained technicians with skills in making feature films, television series, commercials and corporate events. Our courses move from lectures to workshops to partnerships with film and television productions, during which our students work as the crew and learn from distinguished industry professionals. In fact, Valencia's Film Production program has been called "one of the best film schools in the country" by renowned director Steven Spielberg.

In the news
