Vascular Sonography

Advanced Technical Certificate

The Vascular Sonography Program is designed to prepare health professionals to be Vascular Sonographers or Vascular Technologists. It is for individuals who are currently certified in Sonography: ARDMS for General or Cardiac Sonography (RDMS or RDCS); ARRT for Sonography (S); or CCI for Cardiac Sonography (RCS) and who hold an eligible degree from a regionally accredited institution. The program is designed for working professionals and consists of 12 credits of didactic, lab and clinical course work. Those who complete the Vascular Sonography ATC will be eligible to sit for the credentialing boards offered in Vascular Sonography by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) to gain employment as a credentialed Vascular Sonographer.

Steps for Admission to Program

  • 1Attend a Program Information Session. Please bring a copy of the program guide for your desired track with you. If you are not local and cannot attend the information session, and review the  program guide.
  • 2Apply to Valencia College.
  • 3Complete required general education courses before applying to the program.
  • 4Once your transcripts have been received and evaluated, and if you meet eligibility requirements, you can apply to the program.
