Prevention of Medical Errors CNH 8182 June 15, 2019 (Sat., 1 - 3 p.m.) 23983 West Campus Bldg HSB Rm 118 This course is mandated for all Florida licensed health professionals in 456.013 F.S. The content, guided by statute and by each licensing board, includes an overview of the IOM Report: “To Err Is Human.” It examines the scope and impact of the medical errors problem, factors that impact occurrences of medical errors, error prone settings, development of safety plans, design of safe systems through “Root Cause Analysis,” assessment of safety needs of special populations, reporting of medical errors, and the education of patient and public populations. This course is required both at licensure and renewal.
