Major Audition Schedule

Associate in Arts (A.A.) Degree Pathway in Dance Performance Audition
April 20, 2024 in-person audition
9:00 - 10:30 a.m. Building 6, Room 104
East Campus, Valencia College

Please submit your application and reserve your spot by Friday, April 12, 2024. 

The A.A. in Dance Performance audition will consist of a technique class: ballet barre and center, modern combination and jazz combination. Individual choreography or a solo is not required. Participants are encouraged to wear black leotards and pink or flesh colored tights for the women and white shirt and black tights for the men. Please bring all dance shoes.

To reserve a spot in our upcoming audition, April 20, 2024, please fill out the following Google form and submit it no later than April 12, 2024: Google Form - Audition Application. You will need to submit a full-length photo of yourself in dance clothes with your application. 

Applicants will be notified of acceptance status within 2 weeks of the audition. 

The classes listed below (*) are required for enrollment into the major program. Prior to acceptance into the program, the student may have arranged an academic schedule of classes which may need to be changed. In the event a new dance major is having difficulty arranging their schedule to include these dance classes, the department will provide assistance to accommodate their needs.
DAA 1104 Modern Dance I for Majors
DAA 1204 Ballet I for Majors
DAA 2610 Dance Composition and Improvisation for Majors

To be accepted and begin classes at Valencia College, Department of Dance students will need to apply for admission at Valencia College by completing an online application through the application portal. Valencia College recommends that students begin their application process either before auditioning or immediately after. Valenica requires either an in person or an online orientation prior to the applicants start date or first day of classes. Spots in the orientation fill up quickly and if not completed by the first day of school, the applicant will not be permitted to start classes at that time.
