Valencia College has partnered with YouthBuild USA to educate and empower students by building a sustainable pathway to a better career through GED programs. YouthBuild programs develop ethical young leaders to take responsibility for their career, families, and communities.

Requirements
17-24 Years Old
Must be age 16-24.
Income
Must meet income guidelines.
GED
Must be in need of a high school diploma or GED.
U.S. Worker
Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is there a deadline to apply for the program?
No. You can apply anytime. Classes have different start dates.
If I drop the program mid-way through, can I re-register next year?
No. You must complete the program within 12 months to obtain your diploma and certifications.
Do I need a driver’s license to participate?
No. But you do need a Florida ID card.
Is the program available to current high school students?
Technically no. You must not have completed a high school diploma or GED in order
to qualify. Some exceptions can be made. Please contact us for more info.
Am I eligible to apply if I have taken a class at Valencia College before?
Yes. As long as you meet all of the other requirements.
Do I have to be a Florida resident to apply?
Yes. You must have an address within these Kissimmee zip codes: 34744, 34741, 34743,
and 34746
Am I guaranteed a job after I finish?
Every student who completes the program is eligible for a paid internship opportunity
to work in the field. If a student excels, they increase their chances of being hired
after their internship.
What other fees or costs am I responsible to pay for?
Nothing. This program is absolutely free for those who qualify.
What are cash incentives?
Every day that you attend class, you will earn up to $20 for just participating! Each
student is eligible to make up to $2000 just for participating.
