Learning Spaces
Classrooms, Labs and Studios
Students in this program learn to work with standard art materials in a structured way, through hands-on projects in traditional, academic quality studio spaces. These include drawing studios, design rooms, printmaking stations, sculpture and pottery rooms, a kiln patio and spaces for darkroom or digital photography.
Art Lab: Communication and Media Building (CMB) 307
This mixed-use space serves students in drawing and design classes at our beautiful downtown campus. This multipurpose studio is equipped with easels, model stands, light tables, spotlights, workbench tables, hand tools, a printing press, and in-class water and spray booth access. The adjacent computer lab supports interdisciplinary projects, merging digital technology with hands-on design projects.

Our Fine Art Design classroom is a canvas waiting for your ideas to come to life. Whether you're a painter, sculptor, or multimedia artist, the large tables and in-class water access support creation in a wide range of artistic mediums and techniques.

Our drawing and painting studios are equipped with easels, tabarets, model stands, spotlights, cleaning stations, and painting storage racks to accommodate any style of painting.

Printmaking / Photography: Building 3, Room 146
Our well-equipped printmaking studio boasts a specialized press designed for intaglio and monotype printing. Within this studio, we embrace a blend of traditional and environmentally-conscious approaches, including the use of zinc etching. It's a space where artistic expression flourishes, and we explore various techniques to produce remarkable prints.

Students will enjoy plenty of natural light in this mixed-use space that serves both drawing and design students. The art room extends to a courtyard space, expanding the creative and instructional studio.

The spacious West campus multi-purpose art studio has an industrial vibe with high ceilings, wrap-around critique walls, three work zones for two and three-dimensional design, multi-purpose media/painting, and drawing. This drawing, painting, and design studio is equipped with easels, tabarets, model stands, spotlights, light tables, hand tools, a printing press, large tables, in-class water access, a spray booth, and painting storage racks to accommodate various drawing and painting projects.
