I want to major in dance. What do I need to do?
If you are not already a Valencia student, you need to apply to Valencia. If you are already a Valencia student, you will need to schedule an audition for the dance major. For information on upcoming auditions, click here.
I do not want to major in dance. Can I still take dance classes?

Where are you located?
The dance studio is on the East Campus, Building 6, Room 104 and the Department of Dance office is across the hall, Building 6, Room 101. What should I wear for class?
The following is a general idea of what is expected and acceptable dancewear at Valencia. Each professor will state in their syllabi whether or not variations on this are acceptable. Please check with your professor if you have any questions.
Women: Any style black leotard, pink tights, black dance skirt, pink ballet shoes. Hair in a bun.
Men: Plain white T-shirt or leotard, dance belt, black tights, black or white ballet shoes.
Women: Any style black leotard, black footless or convertible tights, bare feet. No shoes, socks, or foot thongs of any kind. Hair in a bun.
Men: Plain white or black T-shirt or leotard, dance belt, black footless or convertible tights. Bare feet. No shoes, socks, or foot thongs of any kind.
Women: Solid colored leotard, black or tan tights, any color or style jazz shoes. Jazz pants or shorts may be worn over tights, but tights must be worn. Hair must be secured out of face.
Men: Plain white T-shirt, dance belt, black pants or sweatpants. Any color or style jazz shoes.
Women: Leotard and tights (any color or style) or tight fitting T-shirt and dance pants (not obstructing noise of taps), hair up out of face.
Men: T-shirt and shorts, sweatpants or dance pants (not obstructing noise of taps.)
WHERE CAN I BUY DANCEWEAR?
There are a number of good dancewear stores in the Central Florida area. You can find them by searching for dancewear online.
