When are new job postings available?

New jobs are posted on an as-needed basis and as they are approved for recruitment. There is not a specific day or time, and we encourage our applicants to visit our career site often for updated postings.

How can I be notified when positions become available at Valencia College?

Other than monitoring our career site, we encourage you to register for Job Alerts. The job alerts subscription will send an email directly to your inbox notifying you as soon as a position of interest has become available.

How does the Job Alerts feature work?

The Job Alerts feature is available to individuals who would like to be notified when specific employment postings become available for recruitment at the college. Once subscribed to the feature, you will begin receiving notifications via email when positions of interest are posted on our career site. To subscribe for job alerts, please visit our career site. You must provide your name and email address, in addition to selecting job categories you have interest in. If you have already created an account with us, simply log in, indicate which job categories you are interested in, and click “Subscribe.”

How do I set up an account on the Valencia Careers site?

If this is your first time applying for a position with Valencia College, you will need to “create an account” by clicking on the Log In/Create Account on the left navigation panel. Once the account has been created, you may search for jobs and begin the application process by selecting Apply for this job. Applicants will then be guided through the application process. If you are returning to our career site, please click on Log In.

Can I update my name, email, or my address on my account?

Yes, from our career site, login to your account and click on “Account Settings” and you will be able to update your personal information.

I cannot remember my password or username. How do I reset it?

From our career site, click on “Forgot your username or password” and complete the required information to retrieve your username or password.

Can I add, modify, or delete documents from my application once I have submitted my materials?

Once you have submitted the application, you will not be able to add, modify, or delete documents. Please contact the Talent Acquisition team directly for assistance at 407 582 8033 or via email at jobs@valenciacollege.edu.

I made a mistake in my application. How do I correct it?

How do I apply for a position?

Once an account has been created on our career site, you will need to “Log In” using your user name and password. Once your profile is set up, you will use the same user name and password to log in to the applicant portal, apply for positions, manage positions, and view the status of your application(s). Valencia College employees must apply and login the career site using the Single Sign-On (SSO) option (red button). After selecting SSO, you can view internal-only opportunities by clicking “Search Internal Jobs” in the left-hand menu.

Can I submit a paper application or email my application materials?

Valencia College does not accept paper or emailed application materials including resumes or cover letters. All applicants must complete the online application by visiting our Career Site.

Can I share my resume to introduce myself and showcase my qualifications to your team for potential opportunities?

We’re unable to review resumes that aren’t submitted for a specific position. We encourage you to check out the jobs posted on our Career Site to find opportunities that match your interests.

What information will I need for my application submission?

The application form is a consistent format for all applicants that requests your personal information, general information, educational history, employment history, eligibility to work, applicable certifications, references, cover letter, and resume. Applicants must complete the entire online application and include work history, even if attaching a resume. Any incomplete applications will not be considered

How does the Application Process Work?

Applicants must submit a Valencia College Employment Application to be considered for any open position. The Talent Acquisition team conducts an initial review to confirm that candidates meet the minimum qualifications and to identify those whose experience and background align with the role. Following the closing date or application review begin date, the hiring manager and/or Advisory Committee undertakes a comprehensive screening and evaluation process. This process is thorough and may take some time as we carefully assess each applicant to ensure an equitable and well-informed hiring decision. Candidates selected for further consideration will be contacted directly by the department or hiring manager to schedule an interview or request additional information.

As a U.S. veteran, will I automatically be granted veteran's preference for any position I apply for?

Valencia College extends preference in employment for eligible veterans in accordance to Florida State Statute 295.07. Veteran’s preference is not applicable to administrator, managerial, other exempt positions, or faculty positions, including counselors, librarians, part-time faculty, and temporary positions.

To be granted veteran preference eligibility, candidates must submit the appropriate documentation for each position they apply to.

If the position requires a degree and I earned my degree outside the U.S., will I need to submit a transcript evaluation as part of the application?

For degrees earned outside of the US, it is the applicant's responsibility to have any foreign transcripts evaluated prior to submission through an authorized evaluation service. For more information on authorized evaluation services, please visit: NACES Members.

Does Valencia College sponsor employment visas?

Valencia College does not provide or continue employment sponsorships, which include H1B visas and all other types. All hires must be able to provide proof of citizenship or authorization to work in the U.S. within 3 business days of being hired.

Are international students on an F1 visa eligible to work at Valencia College, and what is the maximum number of hours they can work?

As an international student at Valencia College on an F1 visa, you can work part-time for up to 20 hours per week. If you have multiple jobs, the total combined hours from all positions cannot exceed 20 hours per week.

Note – Valencia College will not provide or continue the F1 visa for eligible students.

Is Florida residency required for this position, even if it is online or remote?

You are required to relocate and establish and maintain Florida residency within 30 days of your employment start date.

What does “job application status” mean?

Your "job application status" is the stage of your application in the selection and review process.

How can I check my status for a position?

You can review the status of your application online by logging directly into your profile on our career page. Due to our commitment to a thorough and comprehensive hiring process, the timeline may vary depending on the position.

How will my application be evaluated?

When you apply for a position, the advisory committee will evaluate your application and review your qualifications in relation to the job description and the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the position.

What is a grant-funded position?

A grant position is funded by a grant, program, corporate partner, or other external source. Grant-funded positions usually have a specified start and end date, and you are not promised future positions with the College, nor will a current position be held on your behalf.

What does open until filled mean?

An open until filled advertised position does not have a specific closing date. Applications will be reviewed on an ongoing basis, and the posting may close at any time. Please ensure to submit your completed application as soon as possible.

Where can I find the application deadline?

The application deadline is listed on the job posting under “posting end date”. Please note that all postings close at 11:59pm EST on the date listed except for postings that are considered “Open Until Filled” which can close at any time.

What should I do if I am not able to attach the transcripts or reference letters when submitting an application?

If you're having trouble uploading your transcripts, the file size might be too large. Please ensure your file is within the size limit to successfully upload your transcript. Can I withdraw my application once I have submitted it for a specific job posting?

Yes, from our career page login to your account and click on “My Profile”. Choose the position you wish to withdraw from and click on the title. Click on the withdraw link. Please be aware that if you withdraw your application you cannot reapply for the vacancy via your online recruitment account.

I withdrew my application by mistake, how do I reactivate it?

I missed the application deadline – can I still apply?

Once the posting end date has passed, no applications can be submitted. In order to give careful and fair attention to all applicants, we are unable to accept applications after the posting end date. Please continue to visit the career site and apply for new jobs as they become available.

How will I be contacted for an interview?

We will contact you using the email address or phone number you provided when you registered on our application portal. Please ensure the email address and phone number you provide at the point of registration are updated and suitable for receiving emails and phone calls from us.

How are interviews being held at Valencia College?

The interview process may vary for each position. Interviews can be conducted in person, or through a secured digital platform such as Zoom or HireVue. If you are selected for an interview, you will be contacted with specific instructions regarding the interview process for the position you applied for.

How can I create the best possible experience for a virtual interview?

Can I schedule a discussion/interview for a position that I’m interested in applying for?

Due to the large number of applications and requests for interviews, general appointments cannot be made. Should the advisory committee feel that your qualifications match the position requirements, you will be contacted directly for an interview.

What is the average timeframe between when a position closes and when interviews begin?

The time frame varies based on the number of applications received, the hiring committee’s schedule, and the position type. Please feel free to log into your profile to check the application status online.

I have applied for several positions and continue to not be selected for an interview. I seem to meet the qualifications of the position(s), why am I not selected?

We often receive an extensive number of applications at Valencia College for any given position. While you may meet the qualifications for a particular position, there may have been other applicants who met and exceeded the qualifications and/or met the preferred qualifications for the position.

Will I receive a response regarding my application even if I am not selected to move forward?

Yes, you will receive an update on your job application via the email address or phone number you provided with your online application. You can also check your status online by logging into your profile on our career site. We exercise our best efforts to notify all applicants via email that have not been selected for an interview as the position has been filled.

Will the Talent Acquisition team contact me if my qualifications match newly opened position?

Due to the large number of inquiries we receive, we cannot contact past applicants with matching qualifications when a new position becomes available. Please visit this link for Job Alerts.
