Bridges To Success
The Bridges to Success Department provides a wide range of support services to students who need assistance in getting through college.
We are committed to recruiting students with factors that could prove challenging for his/her transition to and completion of college. Risk factors considered are First-generation college student, Qualify for free or reduced lunch, Single parent home, Foster child, Unemployment of parent or guardian, Known disability, DACA, etc. Other factors considered include participation in pre-collegiate programs such as AVID, Elevate, and McKnight Achievers; community service and extra-curricular activities; as well as personal characteristics such as perseverance, communication skills, self-motivation and a commitment to educational success.

Bridges to Success Program Award
To be considered for the Bridges award, you must meet the following criteria:
- 2024 high school graduate of an Orange or Osceola County high school
- Have a minimum 2.75 unweighted academic GPA
- Must be first-generation college student
- Complete all the minimum academic courses required by the state of Florida
- Qualify for Pell Grant as determined by the FAFSA
- Meet Florida residency requirements
- Qualify for free or reduced lunch
- Must have completed PERT Reading, Writing, and Math exams
