Bridges Summer Program

The Bridges to Success (BTS) Summer Program provides you with an opportunity to begin your college-level work in the summer prior to full-time degree seeking enrollment at Valencia College in the fall. If you are selected for the program you will register and attend courses from June to August. (Summer Term B).

Bridges students receive individualized personal attention from Valencia's faculty and staff. These individuals are dedicated to assisting students in making a successful transition from high school to college and will help build leadership skills through community service and extra-curricular activities.

Upon successful completion of the Bridges to Success Summer Program you will become a Bridges to Success Achievers Scholar in the Fall. Bridges Achievers Scholars receive a renewable in-state full tuition award and book stipend that will be coordinated with financial aid to cover up to the full cost of attending Valencia College.

Bridges Achievers Program

Students who successfully complete the Bridges to Success Summer Program are eligible to transition into the Bridges Achievers Program and to receive the Bridges to Success Achievers Award. The Bridges Achievers Program provides continued support and mentoring while building strong academic and leadership skills.

Bridges Achievers students participate in 30 hours of community service each term as tutors, mentors and role models in programs such as AVID, Head Start, YMCA After School Programs, and as elementary school reading tutors. Attendance at a variety of skill workshops and campus seminars is also required.

How to Apply

You must first apply to Valencia College prior to applying to the Bridges Summer Program. Once you receive an acceptance letter with your assigned Valencia College Identification Number, also referred to as your (VID #), follow the directions in the letter to set up your atlas account.

To submit an application for the Bridges Summer Program, log into your atlas account, click the "Students" tab. In the middle, "Student Forms" section, click on "Applications", click into Bridges To Success Application. See the BTS Calendar for future Bridges events.

Bridges to Success Program Virtual Document Fair and Informational Session(s)

The BTS Virtual Document Fair takes place on Monday, February 8th and Tuesday, February 9th, 2021, from 9AM-4PM. Students are NOT required to attend the Virtual Document Fair from 9AM-4PM. We are offering students the ability to select a 15 minute time slot within the hours of 9AM to 4PM on either day (February 8th or 9th). Students do not need to attend both days of the Virtual Document Fair. During their selected time slot, students will meet with different departments to ensure they have completed all steps to necessary to become a Bridges to Success Scholar.

On February 10th, the Bridges to Success Department is hosting three, 60 minute Informational Sessions where students will have the opportunity to meet the Bridges to Success Advisors and receive an overview of the BTS Program. They only need to attend one session. Once RSVP’d for a session, please attend on the set date and the set time. Due to the volume of applicants, we may not be able to reschedule any students for another session. Students will have completed the Virtual Document Fair once they have attended a 15 minute session on either February 8th or 9th and a 60 minute Informational session on February 10th. Parents/Guardians are allowed to attend. Parents do not need to RSVP for themselves.

When registering for the BTS Virtual Document Fair and the BTS Document Fair Informational Sessions, it is required that students register using their Valencia College email address. Any email addresses utilizing other domains (Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail, Outlook, ICloud, OCPS) will be canceled.

Registration for these events will close at 11:59PM on Thursday, February 4th, 2021. On Friday, February 5th, students will receive the official ZOOM link to the sessions for which they've registered.
