The Music Performance faculty at Valencia College come from a variety of backgrounds. Each bring their unique talents and perspectives to the classroom and studio. Faculty bios and representations of their work are available below.
School of Arts, Entertainment, and Design faculty are dedicated to students and are practicing art professionals in Orlando and beyond. Valencia College is proud to have nationally recognized music faculty, all of whom are committed to providing the best guidance and education possible to its students. As active members of the arts and cultural communities, faculty and staff help bring the immediacy of the arts, connection to the local industry, the creativity of its practitioners and the passions of its leaders to the classroom.

Alan Gerber

Mr. Gerber has been a frequent soloist in the Central Florida area in oratorio works such as Handel’s Messiah and has also appeared with the Orlando Opera Chorus in many productions. Mr. Gerber is the vocal/choral director at Valencia College, Orlando, Florida, where he conducts the Valencia Singers, the Contemporary Ensemble and the Early Music Ensemble. Mr. Gerber is also a pianist and violinist. Mr. Gerber is active in The National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS), and is a former president of the Central Florida Chapter of this organization.

Jonathan Territo

Since 1989, Jon Territo has worked as an educator, conductor and musician in Central Florida. Influenced by the rich musical heritage of the Midwest, he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from the University of Michigan. Mr.Territo is the Director of Bands, Strings, and Music Professor at the college, where he also teaches French Horn. Territo earned his Master’s Degree from Rollins College, in Education, in Music Education. He remains an active educator, conductor, performer, clinician, and speaker in Florida.Part-time Faculty
