Adjunct Teaching Opportunities

The Department of Social Sciences and Physical Education is interested in expanding our pool of adjunct faculty members. During each term we employ numerous adjunct professors. Part-time teaching assignments are available in most subject matter areas. Class coverage for day, evening and weekend (Saturday and Sunday) courses is needed.

Areas in which we are actively looking for adjunct faculty:

  • American Sign Language
  • Economics
  • Geography
  • History
  • Political Science
  • Psychology
  • Sociology

Minimum qualifications for transfer curriculum in business as well as behavioral and social sciences courses is 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline + a master's degree or a master's degree with a major in the teaching discipline . All graduate work must be affiliated with a regionally accredited college or university.  Some non-transfer teaching assignments in business areas require a baccalaureate degree in the teaching discipline or an associate's degree and demonstrated competencies in the teaching discipline (e.g., directly related work experience, licensure, certification, etc.).  Please review Valencia's online Credentials Procedures Manual for more detailed information on requirements for particular teaching assignments.  Links to particular academic disciplines are provided.
