Music Performance

Immersion in a creative community with the guidance of great teachers and mentors is a stepping stone on the path to becoming a professional musician, music teacher or music therapist. The Music program at Valencia College is dedicated to the idea of inspiring future performers by providing you with high-level instruction and an expanding array of resources and experiences to enrich, stimulate and develop your gifts inside and outside the classroom.

The Music program strives to inspire students to connect purpose and imagination to their lives, strive for career and artistic excellence, and contribute to the cultural and workforce needs of Central Florida and beyond.

A.A. Degree Pathway

Associate in Arts (A.A.)

Through the Music Degree Pathway, you’ll prepare to transfer to a four-year university music program. You’ll learn music theory and develop your sight singing and ear training skills. You’ll also enhance your musicianship by focusing on instrumental or vocal technique, building a repertoire and gaining performance skills, all of which will prepare you for a university upper-division music program. This pathway also partners with the Valencia College Humanities program to ensure students learn the basics of music history required to succeed at the next level.
