Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (LSAMP)

LSAMP is a program of the National Science Foundation and is authorized by Congress to help diversify the science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) workforce. LSAMP funds collaborations of three or more colleges and universities to implement comprehensive, evidence-based strategies to recruit and retain along the pathway to STEM degrees students historically underrepresented in these disciplines.

Valencia College is the lead institution for the Central Florida STEM Alliance (CFSA), a collaboration with state college partners Lake-Sumter State College (LSSC) and Polk State College (PSC). Intentional design and implementation across alliance institutions help students improve knowledge, skills, attitudes and behaviors in academic, social and professional arenas in STEM.
