Roadmap for Reopening
A Phased Approach to Reopening Our Campuses and Locations
As we continue to prioritize the health and safety of our faculty, staff and students and preserve the continuity of learning, Valencia College is planning a phased approach to reopening – following best practices from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, state and local health agencies, and our planning partner, Orlando Health.
Returning to the Campus
Valencia College is offering the majority of our summer 2021 courses in an online modality, reserving face-to-face and mixed-mode sections for courses that are unable to be offered online. This approach allows us to focus on creating engaging and innovative online experiences while minimizing potential disruptions to teaching and learning in fall.

For faculty, staff and students who will be on a Valencia Campus, please note the following expectations and prevention strategies.
- Before coming to campus, faculty, staff and students must complete the Center for Disease Control and Prevent Self-Checker.
- Face masks are required while on campus.
- Maintain physical distance of at least 6 feet at all times.
- Wash hands frequently when possible or use hand sanitizer.
- Know the symptoms of COVID-19.
- Stay home if you are sick, and seek medical attention if necessary.
During Phase 3, only staff involved with the safety, security, cleaning and maintenance of the facilities, faculty who are delivering classes on-site, and students enrolled in face-to-face courses or scheduled for an advising appointment should be on campus. All other employees and students should remain working and learning remotely.
Access to campus will be limited to employees designated to work on site and students who are enrolled in a face-to-face course at that campus location.
All other employees and students should continue working and learning remotely.
