East Campus Communications

Valencia’s Communications Department offers courses and programs that promote essential and effective communication skills beneficial in all academic and career endeavors. Our faculty are committed to providing learning-centered curriculum that values diversity and the role of both faculty and students in the learning process. We strive to create classroom communities that encourage student inquiry, exploration, critical thinking, and application in a variety of verbal and written mediums.

The department includes English for Academic Purposes (EAP), English (Composition, Creative Writing and Literature), and Speech divisions as well as the New Media Communications Degree Program (Social Media and Journalism).

New Media Communication

The New Media Communication Associate in Science (A.S.) degree at Valencia College is a two-year program that prepares you to go directly into a specialized career in new media communication.

Valencia Voice

Valencia Voice serves as the official student news organization around Valencia College campuses and covers a range of topics—from school and local events to competitive sports and entertainment.
