The Osceola Learning Center

The Learning Center is a dynamic learning environment where students can work on course assignments and receive assistance with reading, writing, speech, world languages, and other specialized tutoring.

Our front desk staff act as the first point of contact for students and visitors seeking information or academic support. Staff can also assist with pay-for-print services, navigating basic software applications, and providing directions to locate surrounding areas on campus.

Marie Brady

Learning Support Manager

My B.A. degree is in Education and Biblical Studies and I have a M.S. degree from Nova Southeastern University in Computer Science. I have taught at Valencia for 24 years in the OST (Office Systems Technology) Department. My current role at the campus is Manager of Learning Support. I love this job because I get to interact daily with an incredible staff who are passionate about learning and helping students. I also enjoy student interaction and that is why I continue to teach part-time.

Javier Charriez

Learning Support Tech Supervisor

I have spent my entire adult life at Valencia. I started as a student like most, but unlike the traditional student I actually found my purpose at Valencia. I joined the Valencia family as a work-study student where I was tasked to assist other students like myself at our small computer lab. I enjoyed this work so much that 20 years later I am still involved in the campus computer labs, but my role is just a bit different now. As the Senior Technology Supervisor, I am now in charge of the technology that students interact with outside of the classroom, testing out new technologies, and assisting the staff with making their digital dreams come true. This work has been very rewarding throughout the years, and I eagerly look forward to see what’s next for both myself and Valencia.

Joecelyn Guzman

Learning Support Tech Specialist

I received my B.A. in Criminology and I am currently pursuing my M.S. in Cyber Security with a focus in Digital Forensics. I enjoy working in Learning Support as a Technical Specialist because it has become my second family. I like being able to work in a diverse environment where I get to meet and help new students and staff members each and every day. I have grown so much in this department, and I am looking forward to be able to learn more and continue to contribute to the success of our department and Valencia College.

Nora Arroyo

Learning Support Tech Specialist

I’m originally from the Windy City, but I’ve spent much of my life here in central Florida. I enrolled at Valencia right after high school. Shortly after I was offered a student position as an assistant in a computer lab. Since then I have moved up the ladder and I have been working for this institution for over 15 years. I currently supervise a team of tutors in the Learning Center who offer assistance to others in various subjects. These years have afforded me many memorable moments, which helped shape me into the adult I am today.
