Student Rights and Responsibilities
The office for Student Rights and Responsibilities, operating under the Assistant Vice President of Holistic Student Support, is responsible for holding students and registered student organizations accountable in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct. This accountability is integral to fostering a safe and supportive learning environment, wherein students engage in an educational process that promotes the development of civility, social responsibility, and integrity.
Reporting
Alleged violations of the Student Code of Conduct may be reported by students, faculty, staff, and community members. The office for Student Rights and Responsibilities is responsible for receiving reports concerning potential policy violations by students or student organizations.
If you have observed or been involved in an incident that may constitute a violation of the Student Code of Conduct by a student or student organization, please submit an incident report for review.
Instructions
- Potential violations of the Student Code of Conduct, including misconduct, academic dishonesty, and organizational misconduct, should be reported to the office for Student Rights and Responsibilities, which operates under the Assistant Vice President of Holistic Student Support.

- To report a crime incident, contact Valencia College Security or your local police.
- For incidents of sexual misconduct, please submit a Sexual Misconduct Report through Equal Opportunity office.

What happens after you submit an Incident Report?
Upon submission of an incident report, the office for Student Rights and Responsibilities
will review the report to determine whether any violations of the Student Code of
Conduct have occurred. You may be contacted for additional information related to
your report. Any shared information will be disseminated to faculty and staff on a
need-to-know basis, in accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and the policies of the College.
If alleged violations of the Student Code of Conduct are identified, the student conduct review process will be initiated. For further details regarding the Student Conduct Process and Procedures, please refer to the Valencia College Student Code of Conduct.
