Valencia College has established a set of critical policies to ensure the proper management and security of information, as well as to guide contractual agreements. These policies are essential for maintaining legal compliance, protecting sensitive data, and ensuring that all college operations are conducted ethically and securely. Below is an overview of the three key policies that faculty and staff must be familiar with:
Information Security at Valencia College Training (mandatory annual training required by Valencia) - The Information Security at Valencia College Training educates employees on protecting sensitive information and maintaining cybersecurity standards. It begins with an overview of information security's importance and the potential threats within an educational setting.
The training reviews Valencia College’s data protection and cybersecurity policies, emphasizing employees' responsibilities in safeguarding student records and institutional data. It covers best practices for handling sensitive information, understanding data privacy laws, and reporting data breaches.
Steps to complete the training:
- Log in to Atlas.
- Navigate to the Employees tab.
- Find the My Development channel and click on the VC EDGE portal.
- Search for "Information Security at Valencia College Training."
- Complete the course.

Co-pilot is an advanced AI-powered tool designed to assist users in various tasks by providing
intelligent suggestions and automation capabilities. At Valencia College, Co-pilot
helps faculty and staff streamline their work processes, enhance productivity, and
improve efficiency. This tool integrates seamlessly with various applications, offering
features such as automated content generation, task automation, data analysis, and
personalized assistance. With Co-pilot, users can focus more on strategic and creative
aspects of their work, while the AI handles routine and repetitive tasks.

- LTAD3188: Conversational AI - An Introduction to Enhancing Student Learning - This course is your gateway to understanding and utilizing the capabilities of conversational AI, particularly ChatGPT, in educational settings.
