The UCF Police Department will provide law enforcement services to the campus. While a Valencia College Safety and Security Office will not be located on campus, it will assist the UCF Police Department with any matters, concerns or support upon their request. UCF will have a police substation on premises and provide services 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

All students, faculty and staff attending the Downtown Campus will need a Downtown Campus Identification card. You may acquire an ID at the UCF Card Services Center which will be temporarily located at the UCF Communication and Media building.

The Valencia College Safety app allows students and staff to simultaneously call and send their location to security in case of an emergency on campus. It also offers other safety features, such as an emergency contacts list, a place to report tips, campus maps and more.

Will there be on-campus security?
Yes, there will be on-campus security. The UCF Police Department will provide law enforcement services to the campus downtown. What is the role of Valencia’s campus security?
Valencia College Security will not be represented at the Downtown Campus. Security matters will be handled by the UCF Police Department 24/7/365. This includes the Center for Accelerated Training (CAT) building. Valencia College Security may respond as needed and work special events for Valencia College, if required.

If I am an attending student, faculty or staff member assigned to Downtown Campus, will I need a new downtown ID? Where/when do I access my new ID?
Yes. All students, faculty and staff will need a Downtown Identification card. You may acquire an ID at the UCF Card Services Center which will be temporarily located at the UCF Communication and Media building. 

How do I get alerts?  
All Downtown Campus students, faculty and staff will receive emergency notifications through UCF Alert. Valencia College students, faculty and staff will be "opted in" to the system and automatically receive alerts.

Will newly issued ID cards be updated to show the Downtown Campus security phone number?
Yes. The new phone number will be listed on the back of the Downtown Campus issued identification cards. UCF Card Services 407-823-2100.

For non-residents that stay late or come early, do I need to notify someone?
Faculty, staff or supervisors should be notified if you are in restricted areas outside of normal hours of operation.

Where is the Police Station?
The Downtown Campus UCF Police Substation is located at 398 West Amelia Street, Orlando Florida 32801. Office Phone 407-823-5555.

If I have an emergency, who do I call?
Call 911.

Will there be a blue light, safe walk or buddy system?
Yes. Blue lights will be in designated areas throughout the campus. Call 407-823-5555 for a safe-walk escort.

If I want to report something stolen, who do I call?
UCF PD will handle reports for crimes, damage or injuries. They will also document all significant events. Call 911 or 407-823-5555.

Will we need a key to access the main entries?
Students, faculty and staff should not need keys to access the main entries at the Downtown Campus. Students will have access to open areas, with ID card access capabilities for those authorized.

What if my badge does not work?
UCF Card Services will manage the operations and issuance of all ID cards for the Downtown Campus. Issues with access should be resolved with UCF Card Services. Faculty and staff, please please contact your immediate supervisor.

How do I resolve a parking ticket or citation?
Questions regarding parking, parking citations, or transportation for the UCF/Valencia College Downtown Campus can be answered by visiting parking.ucf.edu.

Questions regarding Parking Citations issued by the Orlando Police Department or City of Orlando Parking Enforcement can be answered by visiting www.citationprocessingcenter.com.

How will I receive alerts and how will safety updates be communicated during an emergency?
UCF PD will initiate all emergency alerts to all students, faculty and staff at the Downtown Campus. Students, faculty and staff at the Downtown Campus are automatically "opted-in" during enrollment or employment. All pertinent information related to to an emergency will be relayed or initiated by UCF Police Department. Further details will be communicated by appropriate staff via social media and the UCF website.

Is the campus safe?
UCF Police Department patrols and operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to ensure a safe campus environment. Incidents, however, can occur anywhere. Stay alert and report all incidents immediately. If you "See Something, Say Something." Call 911 or 407-823-5555.

Will there be Campus Emergency Response Team (CERT) staff at Downtown Campus?
No. UCF Police Department will respond and take charge of emergency situations at the Downtown Campus. The campus will follow UCF PD's Emergency Procedures.

How much does it cost to replace my Downtown ID card?
For Valencia College students, faculty and staff, the first ID card is free. If you need a replacement ID the cost is $15.00.

Lost and Found Items: All items are turned over to the security officer at the Communication and Media building. Contracted Downtown Security will then contact UCF PD if items are not immediately claimed. UCF PD will respond to pick up unclaimed items and hold the items at the UCF Downtown Substation for a short period of time. If items are not claimed they will be transferred to the main campus UCF Police Department. Call 407-823-5555 if you are missing any property.
