Do I have to go downtown if my program moves?
The Associate in Arts in Exploratory degree is available on any campus. However, if
you are majoring in any of the programs listed above, you may need to take some classes
at Valencia College Downtown in order to complete your program, unless the program
is offered on another campus. Many of the programs provided downtown, are offered
on other Valencia College campuses.
Why is my program moving downtown?
There are various reasons why programs are relocating to Valencia College Downtown.
Many programs were selected to relocate to ensure a smooth transition into the UCF
baccalaureate program and also give students an opportunity to take advantage of the
learning opportunities and educational partnerships available in the Orlando metro
area surrounding the downtown campus.
What benefits are there if my program moves downtown?
Given the intense concentration of professional entities in the downtown area there
will be exceptional opportunities to engage in the field with local businesses, restaurants,
and government agencies. Internships and work-place experience will be integrated
into the downtown campus. Also, guest lectures from the professional community will
be an integrated feature of the curriculum.
Can I attend Valencia College Downtown if I'm getting an Associate in Arts in Exploratory
degree?
Yes, you can earn an Associate in Arts in Exploratory degree at Valencia College Downtown.
Can I take all of my classes at the campus downtown?
If you are an Associate in Arts in Exploratory student, or majoring in one of the
programs being offered at Valencia College Downtown, then yes, you can take all of
your classes at that location.
Will the programs moving downtown change or have new requirements?
The programs relocating downtown will not change or have any new requirements.
Will it take more or less time to complete a program at the campus downtown?
The time to complete your degree at the downtown campus depends entirely on you. There
will be sufficient classes offered so that you can complete your program in the same
amount of time that it would take at other campuses.
Do I have to be in a special program to go downtown?
No, you do not need to be in any special program to attend the campus downtown.

The application process for Valencia College Downtown is the same as the regular application
process. Go to the Valencia College website and click on "Apply Now." While completing your application, write "Valencia
College Downtown" in the space provided to indicate where you intend to take the majority
of your classes.
As a current Valencia College student, how do I apply for the campus downtown?
Complete a Change of Major form in Atlas. The Change of Major form allows you to change your major, as well as change other
information including your home campus, your name and your address.
