Laser and photonics technicians work in industrial, medical, or research settings, producing, installing, operating, servicing, and testing laser systems and fiber optics equipment.
The Laser and Photonics technical certificate (T.C.) will prepare you to assemble, install, operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair basic laser and fiber optics devices and equipment used in the industry.
This certificate can satisfy up to 12 college credits towards the completion of the Associate in Science (A.S.) degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology. With this A.S. degree, you can transfer to earn a Bachelor Degree (B.S.) in Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology.

- ETS 2210C - Principles of Photonics (3 credits)
- ETS 2220C - Introduction to Fiber Optics (3 credits)

The certificate courses can also satisfy elective credits for the general studies degree. Additional general education courses are required for the completion of the Associate in Arts degree (A.A.) transfer plan to one of the state universities or state colleges in Florida.
