Public and Charter School Students
Students attending a public school in Orange or Osceola county are eligible to participate in Valencia's Dual Enrollment program. We encourage students to consult with their parents/legal guardians and the Dual Enrollment school representative learn more about initial and maintaining eligibility for the Dual Enrollment program.
Valencia College is piloting a unique technical certificate opportunity for dual enrollment students in Osceola County. Visit Career and Technical Education Pathways to learn more about the Laser and Photonics Technician and Semiconductor Cleanroom Operator certificates.
Valencia College Academic Standards
Good Standing: Maintaining a Valencia GPA of 2.0 or higher.
Academic Warning: Students whose term GPA falls below 2.0 are placed on Academic Warning and will be informed via their VC email. To return to Good Academic Standing at the end of the next term, a student must earn both a term GPA and cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher.
Note: State Rule 6A-14.0301 addresses repeated courses and grade forgiveness and states that students may not repeat a course for credit if earned an A, B or C in the course.
Dual enrollment students are permitted to retake a class one time.
Academic Probation: Students whose term GPA falls below 2.0 for two consecutive terms are placed on Academic Probation and will be notified through their VC email. Dual enrollment participation is terminated when a student reaches academic probation.High School Academic Standards
If your high school cumulative GPA falls below 3.0, Dual Enrollment participation will be suspended. For reinstatement, the school counselor must notify the Dual Enrollment Office when your unweighted high school GPA returns to a 3.0 or higher.Withdrawal Policy
Dual enrollment students are permitted one withdrawal during participation in the program. Receiving more than one withdrawal will result in dismissal from the program.
Students should meet with their professor and Student Success Coach before withdrawing from a course. It is the student's responsibility to withdraw from a course(s) on or before the published Withdrawal Deadline listed in the Academic Calendar.
Students who withdraw from a course but are enrolled in other courses for the term are expected to complete the remaining registered courses.
Students receive a warning email after the first and only permitted withdrawal.
Students and school counselors are notified when the student has accrued more than one withdrawal and is dismissed from the program.

Eligible School Enrollment
All students must remain enrolled in an eligible school or home education program to participate in the dual enrollment.
Eligible Schools
- Orange or Osceola county public or charter school
- Select private schools
- Registered with the Orange or Osceola county home education office
Students are responsible for notifying the Dual Enrollment Office if they change schools or are no longer enrolled at an eligible school. If a student is no longer enrolled at an eligible school, they are responsible for dropping or withdrawing from enrolled VC courses by the respective deadline found in the Academic Calendar.
Satisfying Valencia Degree Requirements
Once a student has met all academic requirements and is awarded the Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree, they are no longer eligible to participate in dual enrollment or enroll in additional dual enrollment courses. Students should consult their school counselor to discuss available schedule options for the remainder of their high school enrollment.
