Before Requesting Virtual PERT

Virtual PERT Rules

To proceed with testing, you will be considered responsible for the following policies:

  • Hats, hoods, or any accessory which obstructs view of the face while testing should not be worn
  • Cellphones and smartwatches must be powered OFF (not on silent or vibrate) and put away for
the duration of the testing session
  • Testing must be completed in one sitting—pausing the exam and continuing on a different day is
not possible for Virtual PERT; please be sure to allow yourself adequate time to complete the test
    (approximately 1 hour per section)
    • NOTE: The PERT is not timed; however, once you begin testing, you must complete the exam on the same day before 10:59pm; even if you are actively testing, your session will be closed by the system at that time and it will be counted as an attempt

While testing virtually, you will be held responsible for observing proper testing protocol.

Testing & Assessment staff may invalidate your exam for the following reasons:

  • Falsifying information, presenting false identification, or taking a test for another person
  • Failure to present valid photo ID (and any accompanying documentation necessary)
  • Failure to show a 360-degree view of room and testing area during the room scan
  • Use of any outside aids on the test including but not limited to, the use of cell phones, smart
devices, personal calculator, notes, books, etc.
  • Questionable behavior such as persistently glancing away from the monitor or reaching offscreen
  • Communication with other individuals during the exam
  • Leaving the testing area during the exam
  • Hiding of face/camera during testing session
  • Copying or capturing test content either through physical or electronic means
  • Failure to cut/shred your scratch paper at the end of your testing session
  • Navigating out of the testing website/platform (i.e. opening other browsers, programs, or online
    calculators etc.)

Cheating is strictly prohibited. Staff may invalidate your exam if academic misconduct is observed
and this may forfeit your ability to test again virtually.

Exam Information

Taking the PERT Math Section with a Calculator

The test has its own 4-function calculator and you will be allowed to use it for only certain questions. When you are allowed to use it, a calculator icon will appear on your test page.

Once the calculator icon has been clicked, the electronic calculator will appear as a pop-up. You must use the electronic calculator keyboard to input numbers. It is a standard 4-function calculator and performs operations in the order you enter them.

The PERT Calculator will provide the calculator option on your test page. No other calculator may be used during the PERT.

Thank you for testing with us and we wish you success on your exam!
