Lactation Rooms

Valencia College aims to make the transition back into the workplace as comfortable as possible for our working mothers at Valencia.

In accordance with federal law, the College provides an appropriate location and a reasonable amount of break time to assist employees who are nursing mothers for a period of up to one calendar year after the birth of the child. The unpaid reasonable break time and lactation rooms benefit Valencia College by making it easier for new moms to return to work, and it helps working new mothers by giving them the peace of mind that they can still provide nutrition for their infants. For more information on the regulations, please visit the U.S. Department of Labor.

Valencia College is also proud to extend this resource to students and those visiting any of our campuses. There are lactation rooms across the many campuses to meet the needs of nursing mothers. These rooms are available on a first come first serve basis; therefore, nursing mothers are encouraged to schedule time for a room as soon as possible.
