Career Anniversary
Careers at Valencia College are about so much more than years served. Career anniversaries are about the individual employee — the unique attributes, special connections and the many ways each employee contributes to student success. So, when Valencia employees have a career anniversary, we celebrate and recognize them.
What are the career anniversary milestones?
Valencia proudly recognizes career service milestones to honor and celebrate employees’ dedication and contributions. Milestones are acknowledged at 1 year, 3 years, and 5 years of consecutive service, and continue to be recognized at every five-year increment thereafter (10, 15, 20 years, and beyond). These milestones reflect our appreciation for the commitment, growth, and impact our employees bring to the organization over time.
Part-time employees are recognized on their anniversary date with a celebratory email and an electronic certificate honoring their first year of service, while full-time employees receive an acrylic certificate to mark this special milestone.
Eligible full-time and part-time employees celebrating 3, 5, 10, and subsequent five-year career anniversaries will receive a congratulatory email inviting them to select a gift of their choice through the Goody platform, allowing them to choose something that is meaningful to them. Employees celebrating 20 or more years of service will notice the option to select a numeric acrylic through Goody, enabling them to continue building their numeral collection from our anniversary recognition program in years past!

Career anniversaries are important moments to pause, recognize, and celebrate the contributions of our employees. Supervisors are encouraged to use the tools outlined below to help make these milestones meaningful, memorable, and affirming for their team members.

Certificates
Celebrate your employee's special day in a timely and meaningful way with a personalized certificate. Sending an electronic copy of the certificate to your employee will also allow them to share their milestone with their friends and family on social media.

Retirees are honored with a commemorative retirement box upon their retirement from the College. It symbolizes our deep appreciation and gratitude for the many contributions retirees have made to Valencia College.
