Future Dual Enrollment Students

It is the student's responsibility to submit their scores in the appropriate time needed for Valencia College to receive and process. Do not wait until the last minute to submit your scores. Refer to Dual Enrollment for deadline dates.


 Important Notes at a Glance

  1. Student must have a processed Dual Enrollment application on file and have received a VID number (V0______) before testing at Valencia College.
  2. Valencia College will not accept scores from other institutions for Dual Enrollment students. DE applicants must test at their High School or Valencia College.
  3. Valencia College will not accept paper copies of SAT and ACT, they must be sent electronically from CollegeBoard or ACT.
  4. ID REQUIRED : You need to bring a physical and valid government issued photo ID or a high school ID with a photo. Pictures of your ID from a device or paper copies will not be accepted. A government issued photo ID can be obtained at any DMV or with the Florida Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles. We are unable to accept Florida Smart ID at this time.

PERT Testing at Valencia College

The following guidelines apply for both virtual and on campus testing options:

  • Full PERT (reading, writing and math) takes 2.5 - 3 hours and must be completed in the same day.
  • A student is allowed 3 PERT attempts at Valencia College in a two-year period with a one-day wait period between attempts. To be valid, test scores must have been taken within two years.
  • You cannot take the PERT on the same day. 
  • Valencia College will not accept scores from other institutions for Dual Enrollment students. DE applicants must test at their High School or Valencia College.
  • No payment necessary if this is your first time taking the PERT at Valencia College. High school attempts do not count as an attempt at Valencia College.  Second and third attempts are $10.00 per subject (math, reading or writing).
  • Only admitted Dual Enrollment students can test for higher-level math placement after the test score deadline. 

PERT On-Campus Testing

PERT On-Campus Testing for Dual Enrollment applicants will be made available after the Fall 2025 Dual Enrollment application opens on Monday, January 27, 2025. To be eligible to take the test, you must first complete the Fall 2025 Dual Enrollment application AND have received your Valencia ID Number (VID). Once your application has been completed, revisit this page to sign up to take the PERT.

PERT Virtual Testing

PERT Virtual Testing for Dual Enrollment applicants will be made available after the Fall 2025 Dual Enrollment application opens on Monday, January 27, 2025. To be eligible to take the test, you must first complete the Fall 2025 Dual Enrollment application AND have received your Valencia ID Number (VID). Once your application has been completed, revisit this page to sign up to take the PERT.

 

PERT at High School Campus

If you have qualifying test scores from the PERT taken at your high school, please allow 10 business days for our office to retrieve the scores from your school district. Please note that there is no action needed on your part.

High School PERT scores will only be accepted electronically from your school district.

The results of the exam will determine which courses you can take at Valencia College. There’s no failing the exam, however it will impact the courses you'll take at Valencia College, so it's important that you study for the test.

Retaking PERT at Valencia College

Eligibility for PERT retakes:

  • A student is allowed a total of 3 PERT attempts at Valencia College in a two-year period.
  • PERT retake fee ($10 per subject retake)
  • There is a one-day wait period between attempts.
  • Review and tutoring is optional

Submitting SAT or ACT scores

If a student has taken the SAT or ACT in the past two years and the scores are at college level, the scores must be sent to Valencia College electronically from CollegeBoard or ACT to be considered for Dual Enrollment admission.

  • ACT: you are responsible for logging into your ACT account via act.org and requesting for your test scores to be sent to Valencia College (school code - 0736).
    • ACT scores are processed after a student's tests have been scored and all scores are ready. If the score is available to be sent, it is usually sent the same day.
    • After receiving scores from ACT, scores are processed by the Testing & Assessment department within 2 business days.
    • All requests must be completed through ACT. No other forms of submission will be accepted.
  • SAT: you are responsible for logging into your SAT account via collegeboard.org and requesting for your test scores to be sent to Valencia College (school code - 5869).
    • SAT scores are sent electronically and typically sent within 5-10 business days of an order being placed or a couple weeks after test day if a student designated score recipients as part of their registration.
    • Rush shipping is only available for scores that have already been released and sent within 1-4 business days (excluding holidays and weekends).
    • After receiving scores from CollegeBoard, scores are processed by the Testing & Assessment department within 2 business days.
    • All requests must be completed through CollegeBoard. No other forms of submission will be accepted.
